Homeowner Holds Repeat Break-In Suspect At Gunpoint After He Came Back

A Bertie County homeowner stopped a repeat break-in suspect by holding him at gunpoint until deputies arrived, after the same man was linked to another burglary on the same road the previous week. The suspect, Carlton Moore, was charged with two counts each of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and possession of stolen goods, and deputies said stolen items were found at his home. The video frames the incident as proof of the value of situational awareness and armed self-defense, emphasizing that the homeowner did not fire a shot and did not chase the suspect. It also argues that the case shows how quickly a repeat offender can return if released on bond.
