Trump set to give primetime speech at Republican National Convention tonight: Live updates

“I’m younger than both of the candidates, and I’m too old,” Bush said in at least one speech, a witness told USA Today.

Donald Trump will give the keynote speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this evening to close out the event.

Trump is set to take the stage at 9 pm local time and is expected to speak for 90 minutes. The former president said the attempted assassination over the weekend inspired him to change his speech at the convention.

“I had all prepared an extremely tough speech, really good, all about the corrupt, horrible administration,” Trump told the New York Post earlier this week. “But I threw it away.”

“I want to try to unite our country,” he continued.

“I don’t want to pick a single person for a position of power, all I want to do is block the guys that would be a disaster,” he told the outlet.

In Michigan, Nevada and Wisconsin Trump is leading by three points, in Georgia by five, in Pennsylvania by six, in North Carolina by nine and in Arizona by 10.

The numbers are a bad sign for Biden who is already facing doubts about his ability to campaign and win the November election. Members of his own party have asked him to step aside and make room for a different, younger, candidate.

On Tuesday, several convention delegates were seen sporting ear bandages in a nod to the former president’s current look after he was struck in the right ear by a bullet in the attack.

One Republican delegate even went as far as to describe the ear bandage as “the newest fashion trend.”

A witness to the account said Carlson was warmly greeted by his former colleagues like Hannity, Jesse Watters, and Jeanine Pirro.

Richard Grenell, Donald Trump’s ambassador to Germany during his presidency, made the following remarks this morning at a convention press briefing regarding the possibility of Joe Biden possibly exiting the 2024 race.

“We had a primary process. He’s the nominee. I don’t think elites should change it.”

“I’m really troubled that the media suddenly woke up in July of 2024, after we had a democratic process… every state in the United States voted for Joe Biden for the Democratic nominee. We had an… we had an election process.

“We hear from the other side a lot of this, ‘undermining democracy’, blah, blah, blah. Nothing undermines democracy than a bunch of elites from the Democratic party saying, ‘Oh, we looked at the polls that people are wrong. We’re going to replace the guy.’ Joe Biden was exactly the Joe Biden in December 2023 that he is today, maybe a little bit worse. For the media to suddenly say, ‘Oh, we just woke up in July of 24.’

“I’m shocked that there is not more of a pressure from the media to say, ‘I’m sorry, you can’t dump him. He is the nominee. We had an election that people knew what Joe Biden was about, and they voted for him.’ So with that being said, I felt last December of 2023 that it was crazy that nobody was just challenging him. It was obvious to me and to most Americans. And so the shock now. I have a hard time getting past that but I think he has been slipping for a while. I think the world is a dangerous place. You don’t really know who’s making these decisions and told he doesn’t really do a lot after eight o’clock. It’s terrible.”
