Tacticorix is a New Imposing Workhorse from Civivi
Big knife fans, this incoming Civivi model is for you. The Tacticorix lives up to its hyperbolic name, with a large-sized blade and generally imposing profile.
You can flick the Tacticorix’s blade out via thumb studs, or flip it with the spine-side flipper tab; either way, once it’s open, you’ll be greeted with an intimidating, beefy 3.7-inch blade. In terms of shape, it’s a drop point at heart, but the spine and the incline down to the tip sport a pronounced swedge, playing up the big knife attitude. This one is rendered in Nitro-V, a well-rounded stainless that can take to big chores just as well as smaller ones.
Taken all in all, the Tacticorix’s blade certainly lives up to the ‘tactical’ portion of its name; but it also reads like a design intended to go behind any single designation. It’s a well-balanced blade shape in terms of geometry, with a straight edge, belly, and, of course, a strong, center-aligned tip; you can easily envision users picking this one up for an outdoors folder, or even just a standard daily carry if they’re into the larger knives for EDC (and many users are!).
Civivi’s team grafted this blade onto a spacious, straight handle with a bit of a frag pattern cut into its G-10 scales, driving home the Tacticorix’s rough and tumble vibe. This knife is a liner lock, so the scales match front and back, and the clip can be swapped to either side (it’s the usual deep carry Civivi clip, by the way). The Tacticorix weighs 4.58 oz. in its standard configuration; you can get a fancier flavor with guibourtia wood scales and Damascus blade that’s a little lighter at 4.33 oz.
Civvi has the Tacticorix slated for an August release, so it should be here soon. It is set to drop alongside the Biophase, a folder we covered last month.
