Russia: The West Is “Waging A War Without Rules”
Russia’s former president and current deputy chair of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev has said that the West is “waging a war without rules.” He added that Russia will demand compensation and retaliate appropriately for damages done by the sanctions imposed upon it.
Medvedev also encouraged other countries burdened by the United States’ interventionism mentality to do the same.
Russia Should Inflict “Maximum Damage” On The West
While commenting on the latest batch of restrictions imposed on Moscow by Washington last week, Medvedev claimed that the West is waging a “war without rules” on Russia. The US has sanctioned more than 4,000 Russian individuals and companies since February 2022, when the Ukraine conflict began. The EU, UK, Canada, Japan, and several other nations have also imposed similar restrictions on Russia.
Medvedev said that Moscow was going to “be evaluating [the damage done] so as to be able to demand [compensation from] the countries that have imposed sanctions on Russia.” He further suggested that “one could start systematizing and evaluating the damage done to countries [that have] suffered from sanctions adopted in circumvention of the UN Security Council.” Medvedev added that quite a few nations would be subject to potential claims and that a “register of losses inflicted by crimes of the colonial epoch and neo-colonialism” would likely be necessary to get this process off the ground.
Medvedev has been issuing warnings to the West since the start of aid to Ukraine. So far, Russia’s red lines continue to be crossed and the former Soviet Union continues to not make good on its warnings.
Ukraine And NATO Urge U.S. To Cross Another One Of Russia’s “Red Lines”
At this point, it is almost ridiculous to hear Medvedev warn and promise retribution when none ever comes. It’s like “the boy who cried wolf.” Now the West is under the impression that they can do whatever they want to Russia with no retaliation. If at some point, Moscow does decide to react, expect a global war to follow.
