Israel Defies Ceasefire And Continues To Attack Lebanon

Despite a ceasefire agreement reached in November, Israel continues attacks on Lebanon. These attacks have been killing civilians while Israel has been accused of violating the truce more than 2,700 times.
Israeli Cabinet Has Approved A Ceasefire In Lebanon
In announcing the ceasefire, Netanyahu called out both Iran and Syriaβs Assad. He stressed that Israel is βDetermined to prevent Iran from having nuclear armsβ and that Assad is βplaying with fireβ in his coordination with the Islamic Republic and Hezbollah. The prime minister also stressed thatΒ Hezbollah will be attacked if its fighters break the deal. Netanyahu added that the ceasefire deal means IsraelΒ will now focus on the Iranian threat. He pledged that all Israeli citizens in the north would be able to return to their homes. βSHTFPlan via ZeroHedge
Just yesterday, Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple towns in southern Lebanon. At least two people were killed while several others were wounded. Among the dead was a civilian working in his field in Houla, whose home had been repeatedly struck by Israeli forces. Meanwhile, unexploded Israeli ordnance detonated near a Lebanese military vehicle, killing four, including soldiers, in a grim reminder of the long-term dangers of Israelβs relentless bombardment.
Hezbollahβs acting leader, Sheikh Naim Qassem, has refused disarmament demands, stating, βWe will not let anyone disarm Hezbollah or disarm the resistance.β He argued that Lebanon cannot discuss defense strategies while under occupation, adding, βIsrael must withdraw and cease its aggression.β
The United States, meanwhile, has pressured Lebanon to dismantle Hezbollah, with envoy Morgan Ortagus insisting Beirut must βfully fulfil the cessation of hostilitiesβ by disarming militias. Despite global condemnation, Israelβs apartheid regime persists, emboldened by Western support. Even as half of Gaza lies in ruins and Lebanonβs south burns, the U.S. and EU deepen ties with Israel, prioritizing arms deals over human rights. The result is a region on the brink, where civilians pay the price for geopolitical brinkmanship.
