Clinton And Biden Praise Trump For The Israel Gaza Peace Deal

Former presidents Joe Biden and Bill Clinton, both democrats, have praised current President Donald Trump’s peace deal. Trump had a role in negotiating hostage releases and prisoner swaps between Israel and Gaza. After the swap, a peace deal was signed.
It is still unclear if this peace agreement will remain in effect; however, Trump and other mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye signed the ceasefire on Monday in Sharm el-Sheikh, in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.
During the signing ceremony, Trump said that “everybody’s happy” with the agreement, which “has taken off like a rocket ship.” Trump also claimed that the war that has been waged since October 7th, 2023, when Hamas attacked Israel, is now over.

Bill Clinton, who ruled the United States in the 90s, expressed his gratitude. “I’m grateful that a ceasefire has taken hold, that the last 20 living hostages have been freed, and that desperately needed aid has begun to flow into Gaza,” Clinton said in a statement on Monday. “President Trump and his administration, Qatar, and other regional actors deserve great credit for keeping everyone engaged until the agreement was reached,” he added, according to a report by RT.
The former president urged Israel and Hamas to “try to turn this fragile moment into lasting peace that provides for the dignity and security of both Palestinians and Israelis.”
Biden also thanked Trump for helping bring back the hostages. “I commend President Trump and his team for their work to get a renewed ceasefire deal over the finish line,” he wrote on X, expressing hope that the peace would last. He called for “equal measures of peace, dignity, and safety” for Israelis and Palestinians.
Israel has so far refused to commit to a full withdrawal from Gaza, while Hamas has refused to disarm, meaning the remainder of the ceasefire agreement could still collapse. The previous ceasefire reached in January failed after only two months.

Both sides are still unwilling to budge on headline issues, but for now, at least the hostages and political prisoners have been released.
