Trump: Russia Has Compromised On Ukraine

Russia has made one huge concession in its war with Ukraine, according to United States President Donald Trump. Moscow has also said that its major concession has been that it hasnβt taken over the entire country, but instead, only wants Ukraine to βrecognize territorial realities.β
While speaking at a press conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store on Thursday, Trump expressed optimism about achieving major progress in the settlement within two weeks. When asked what concessions Russia was making in peace negotiations over Ukraine, the US president replied: βStopping the warβ¦ Stop taking the whole country, pretty big concession.β
When pressed on whether Ukraine would have to cede territory to secure peace, Trump would not rule out the possibility, saying: βIt depends [on] what territory. Weβll do the best we can, but they lost a lot of territory.β Trump claimed that the U.S. is putting a lot of pressure on Russia.
His comments came after Trump signaled he wasΒ βnot happyβΒ with the recent Russian missile and drone strikes across Ukraine, calling themΒ βnot necessary, and very bad timing.βΒ βVladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Letβs get the Peace Deal DONE!βΒ he wrote on Truth Social.
Ukrainian officials have claimed that 12 people were killed and more than 100 injured in the strikes, with Kiev taking the brunt of the damage. Russiaβs Defense Ministry said the strikes targeted military-related industries, including rocket fuel and gunpowder production facilities. Moscow also maintains that its attacks never target civilians. βRT
