Blade Show 2024: WE Knife Co. Builds Up Premium Side of Its Catalog

The prolific WE Knife Co. is a staple at knife shows at this point – in fact, they’re one of the sponsors for Blade Show this year. Naturally, they’ve got a bunch of new stuff to show off; on the WE side of things we’ve got one original in-house design, one from a new collaborator, and a larger sequel to an existing collaboration piece.

Sine Wave

With its humped handle and upturned, modified drop point blade, the Sine Wave does look a little like its namesake – but more than that, it just looks like a very nice offering from the in-house crew. A notable visual element on this one is what we would call a “compound swedge,” the multifaceted swedge grind that adds some additional visual drama to the sweeping, 3.98-inch, CPM-20CV blade.

Guthrie

Here we have the first collaboration between WE Knife Co. and Jason Guthrie, a South African custom maker and fishing guide. This collab appears to be a production take on Guthrie’s Ranger model – specifically, the drop point version of that knife. This one offers both a thumb stud and a front flipper tab for deployment; once again the blade steel is CPM-20CV.

High-Fin XL

Mike Gavac of Gavko Knives has partnered with WE once again for a scaled-up version of his first collaboration with the company. Funnily enough, although the High-Fin XL is the only knife discussed here with “XL” in its name, it’s actually smallest of the bunch, with a blade length of 3.48 inches. That still makes it half an inch bigger than the original WE High-Fin, however. As with the other two, the blade steel here is CPM-20CV.
