Savage AccuCan 30 BOB Suppressor: A First Look at the Reflex Design

November 7, 2026

In Silencer Saturday #456, The Firearm Blog's Daniel Y takes an early look at the Savage AccuCan 30 BOB, a reflex suppressor from a company known for bolt-action rifles.

Key points

  • Design: the rear of the can extends back over the first few inches of the barrel, adding internal volume without adding overall length.
  • Specs: 13.7 ounces, 8 inches long, 2 inches in diameter, rated for .30 caliber up to .300 Win Mag, 5/8-24 thread, aluminum body with a titanium thread insert, $999 MSRP.
  • Testing so far: it was fired on a Savage Model 110 Predator Ultra Light in 6.5 Creedmoor and seemed fairly quiet, but he has no measured data yet.
  • Caution: the threads sit deep inside the can, so an adapter that unscrews could get trapped, and the wrench flats are too far in to help.

Quick take

Daniel Y calls the BOB an interesting entry from a large maker and advises threading it only onto the correct muzzle size. He plans to test whether a closer bullet-to-bore fit improves performance.
