The Grafenwoehr Training Area (GTA), nestled in Bavaria, is a military training facility, spanning over 230 square kilometers of rugged terrain. Renowned for its versatility, GTA offers soldiers a dynamic environment for honing combat skills across diverse landscapes, from dense forests to expansive fields. The site hosts cutting-edge training facilities, including mock urban environments and live-fire ranges, facilitating realistic combat scenarios.
U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 1st Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment conduct an M17 pistol range in the Grafenwoehr Training Area on March 3, 2023, to maintain their marksmanship skills and increase lethality.
The 2nd Cavalry Regiment provides V Corps, America’s forward-deployed corps in Europe, with combat-credible forces capable of rapid deployment throughout the European theater to defend the NATO alliance.
